Employers
The Languages at Work program provides funding for employers who want to offer employment opportunities to young people looking to work in their second language.
There are two types of funding:
- For employers near an establishment offering the Explore program;
- For educational establishments offering the Explore program.
Employers
Languages at Work enables young people who have taken part in the Explore immersion program to work in their second language after their immersion.
To be eligible for Languages at Work funding, you must offer a job where the employee will have tangible opportunities to practise their second language, either through interactions with customers or work colleagues. Your company or organization must also be located in a region where the Explore program is delivered.
To submit a funding application, start by creating your profile on the Young Canada Works website. Once you have completed your profile, you will be able to create and submit a funding application. If your application is accepted, you will be able to search for an employee from the pool of participants on the website.
Eligibility
- Offer a rewarding work experience;
- Hire a participant from another region of Canada taking part in the Explore program;
- Offer appropriate guidance and support;
- Be in a position to pay the participant’s salary and salary top-up before receiving the YCW contribution for the placement.
